What happens when you land
- We watch your flight number, so a delay costs you nothing and changes nothing.
- After immigration and baggage claim, walk through customs into the arrivals hall.
- Your driver is standing at the barrier with an Ashi Travels board showing your name.
- He takes the luggage, walks you to the vehicle in the car park and you are on the road.
Why book an airport taxi in advance
Airport taxi ranks negotiate after you arrive, when you are tired and have no reference price. A pre-booked transfer removes the negotiation: the vehicle is confirmed, the fare is fixed and the driver is waiting whatever time you land.
It also means the right vehicle. Four travellers with four suitcases do not fit in a sedan, and discovering that at 3 am in the car park is nobody's idea of a good start.
Night and early-morning arrivals
Most long-haul flights reach Colombo between midnight and 6 am. We run transfers all night at the same price as daytime, and the roads are far quieter — the drive to Kandy or Galle is often an hour faster than in the afternoon.
Extras you can ask for
- Child seat or booster (tell us the child's age).
- A stop for a local SIM card or currency exchange at the airport.
- Breakfast or a rest stop on longer drives to Kandy, Sigiriya or Ella.
- Sightseeing added on the way, such as Pinnawala or Negombo fish market.
