The Colombo–Katunayake Expressway carries most of the journey. Central Colombo usually takes 45–60 minutes outside busy periods; weekday traffic around 7–9am and 4–7pm can make the final city section slower. Dehiwala and Mount Lavinia are farther south and normally add time after the expressway.
